Fōda [Fo-da] meaning ‘food’ in medieval English.

Fōda is a pop up restaurant and events company, based in London. Our focus is on quality, seasonal food that is bursting with flavour, and served in an informal setting.

Our Creators

Melissa and Tom bring a wealth of experience and passion to the table from their illustrious careers in some of the UK’s finest kitchens. They have honed their skills at prestigious establishments including The Savoy, where they met, The Ritz, Roots, Galvin La Chapelle and Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall. Under the tutelage and guidance of some of the UK’s best chefs, they have gained experience that enables them to craft a cooking style marrying classical and modern techniques, with a deep appreciation for the UK’s seasonal bounty.

Their food is an expression of their past, Melissa’s Iranian heritage, Tom’s time living in Germany and China, and their experiences in the hospitality industry. At the core of the Fōda ethos is a focus on the best ingredients, prepared at the peak of their season.

Our Ethos

To ensure we get the best ingredients at the peak of it’s season, we go to new Covent Garden market ourselves in the dead of night. As the suppliers receive their new ingredients, we arrive to see what will inspire us to create our next menus. Our friends at S. Thorogood & Sons only sell British grown ingredients when it is in season, and the results are ingredients that are second to none.

Our meat comes from The Ethical Butcher, a company based in London that only works with sustainable farms, and produces very high quality meat. Everything they do is based around a thoughtful process that puts more into the world than it takes out of it.
